Thursday, March 11 1940's Test. Students
need to hand in Schindler's List permission slips.
Wednesday, March 10 Review day for tomorrow's
test.
Tuesday, March 9 Today's content was on the Holocaust. I gave the students various
maps of concentration camps and a handout on the "tion" process that Jews went through during the Holocaust.
Monday, March 8 Today we finished the video
on Hitler and discussed his mistakes. We then talked about the Nuremberg Trials and the occupation of Japan.
Friday, March 5 "How Hitler Lost the
War" today.
Thursday, March 4 I gave out a review sheet
for the test on the 40's (WWII mostly). there is a link to the review sheet below. The test will be next Thursday,
March 11. We watched a video called "How Hitler Lost the War".
1940's Unit Review
Wednesday, March 3 We finished the presentations
today in class. Assignment to complete for Friday is to read 17.4 in the text and answer questions #1,3 and 4.
The topic is the homefront during WWII.
Tuesday, March 2 More presentations today.
Monday, March 1 We started the presentations
on the war in the Pacific today.
Thursday, February 25 and Friday, February 26 More presentations.
Wednesday, February 24 Today was filled
with student presentations. They will continue tomorrow.
Tuesday, February 23 Spent a little more
time on Pearl Harbor. We then began the students' presentations. I gave out an extra credit assignment as
well - due on Monday, March 1 (see link below).

Monday, February 22 We finished the video
and discussed some of the questions on the study guide. Presentations begin tomorrow.
Friday, February 19 We finished watching the
Pearl Harbor video and discussed the items on the study guide. I also handed out the timeline over the war in Europe
to give students an idea of when they may present their topic to the class. That is posted below as well.
WWII Timeline
Thursday, February 18 Students had time
to work on their topics/presentations/handouts today in the MRC.
Wednesday, February 17 Today the students had
time to work on a short project about WWII. Each student drew a topic from a hat (or a box) and is responsible for making
a short presentation about that topic when it comes up during discussion. The first presentations will not happen until
Monday of next week and the last ones will most likely happen Thursday or Friday. The instructions for the assignment
are below.

Tuesday, February 16 Watched the Pearl Harbor
video today.
Monday, February 15 We finished discussing
the timelines. Then we began watching a video about Pearl Harbor. The students have a guide to fill in while they
watch. This will continue tomorrow.
Thursday, February 11 We continued to discuss
the pre-WWII timelines today.
Wednesday, February 10 We discussed the pre-WWII timelines today.
Monday, February 8 Today we discussed the
events from the timelines.
Friday, February 5 Pre-World War II timeline quiz to start the hour - we
also corrected them. We watched a short video showing Hitler speak at a youth rally.
Thursday, February 4 Today the students
had the entire class to work on an assignment. It is called the "Pre-WWII Timeline" and should have all the
events from chapter 16, sections 1&2 and chapter 16, section 4 up to the bombing of Pearl Harbor (p. 538-541 and 550-554).
They will be able to use the timeline to take a quiz tomorrow in class.
Wednesday, February 3 We finished up a couple
of items from yesterday to begin class. Then the students took a "quiz" on some major topics from World War
II in preparation for our study of that unit.
Tuesday, February 2 We spent today discussing
various aspects of the 1930's using the picture assignments the students had done for today.
Monday, February 1 Today we went to the MRC
and worked on finding pictures about the Great Depression that coincided with topics from the textbook. The assignment
is to find 10 pictures, write the page number from the text that the picture references and tell what the picture is about.
This is all done in a word-processing document. They are due tomorrow.
Friday, January 29 The
students took a quiz over the 12 important dates to begin the hour. We then discussed the First Word assignment over
World War I.
